Kawelo Farm is a historic working organic farm just above Kealakekua, between north and south Kona.

An unforgettable Hawaiian experience.

The 1850’s Atkins House is one of the oldest wooden structures in Hawaii. It was built during the reign of King Kalakawa, during the whaling era. The fully renovated structure has an exquisite kitchen and luxurious bathroom. The house contains period furnishings and ornate woodwork. The lanai overlooks the farm’s large vegetable garden where you can pick kalo, sweet potatoes, European and Asian vegetables. It is truly a one-of-a-kind place.

  • "If you are wanting to get away from the crowds and tourists, Kawelo Farm is the way to go! It is in a jungly, more mountainous area but only 10-20 minutes from all the beaches and fun spots down in Kona. There is THE best local cafe, Kaya’s, that is only 5 minutes away and has great hours. Todd provided beach towels and other beach items as well as many other household items. The home was spacious and peaceful."
